Reclining Carla

I am in Austin, Texas, visiting one of my favorite people - the immensely beautiful Carla :) We've been wanting to get together for a photo shoot for years, and I must say the results so far are glorious. Our first session was last night, and we took a total of 224 pictures. Several of the poses are reinterpretations of famous reclining nude paintings that we both liked. Carla is a very versatile model, beautifully comfortable in her own skin.

We are both fans of the art deco era painter Tamara de Lempicka, which shows - many of the images were based on hers.

This was a Modigliani that we both liked...

This was an artist I'd never heard of, Szekessy, but I really like this image (thank you, Google image search!) and will be looking for more images by that person.

And one more, not in the style of any particular image...

And I gotta send love to Jimmy, Carla's fiancee. He's a lucky guy, and a great one! ;) And to Cletus, who helped me be able to buy the Canon Rebel XT all of these are taken with (and I love this camera) as well as make the trip to Texas. You the bomb, darlin. And to Dan and Craig, who helped me get to my plane on time :-*
